Close Sales at the Office, Not on Showsite

#SmartExpo – The time to sell is not on the exhibit floor, but back in the office. If you are going to invest the time to travel to a tradeshow, send people who are going to help in cultivating meaningful relationships.

The goal when leaving a tradeshow is to establish solid follow-up appointments instead of pushing people to buy while exhibiting. Establish common interests with prospects and listen to their needs. Help them pursue what they need, not what you do.

Using Social Media – Twitter

Use Twitter— Get involved with the event on social media! Follow the event Twitter page to get the info you need related to the event. Use the event hashtag to tweet about your products, freebies, demo schedules, etc., in order to connect with your followers and let them know what to expect when they see you there. Refrain from using using messages such as “Come visit us at booth #___” – instead give your readers an incentive, such as a reason why they should make a stop by your team. Also make sure to retweet relevant posts or updates regarding the show to gain further visibility.
